Robin tinabla si Sharon, may hugot pa rin kay Kiko

“PELIKULA lang ‘to, walang pulitika,” Robin Padilla said of his film inspired by the life of a former police general.

Sa presscon para sa nasabing pelikula, dumako ang interbyuhan sa kung bakit hindi siya sumipot sa concert ng kanyang “Ma’am Sharon” (Cuneta) at the Big Dome marking her 40th year in showbiz (September last year).

Ani Robin, he couldn’t imagine having a face-to-face encounter with Sharon’s husband, si Sen. Kiko Pangilinan. That time, kasagsagan daw ‘yon ng panlilibak sa kanya ng oposisyon over Sen. Antonio Trillanes who the present government wanted arrested and jailed on rebellion charges.

Meanwhile, Ormoc City Mayor Richard Gomez na dating nobyo ni Sharon at madalas makatambal made a surprise appearance at the concert. It was a sight which delighted a still-huge number of Sharon-Richard fans.

If we are to draw an analogy, concert lang ‘yon, walang puwang ang politika. Bakit tila may double standard si Robin, or difficulty in telling what is showbiz from what is political?

September last year pa ang pagtatanghal na ‘yon ni Sharon, dumaan ang apat na buwan para ipaliwanag ni Robin ang kanyang no-show? Hayun tuloy, his conspicuous absence broke Sharon’s heart!

At ano naman if he and Kiko crossed paths? Dahil ba isang action star si Robin, whoever gets in his way lalo’t kaaway ay mauuwi ang pagsasalubong nilang ‘yon sa real-life upakan?

We’d like to believe that both Kiko and Robin are decent, mature, well-bred men.

Iniisip ba ni Robin na sa kaswal nilang tsikahan ni Kiko ay mauungkat ang tungkol sa pagpapakaepal niya sa labas ng Senado’t pilit pinalalabas si Trillanes na nagkuta roon? We don’t think ganu’n kababaw si Kiko who’d provoke a non-ally and pick up a fight.
