GALIT si Pangulong Duterte sa nangyaring pambobomba sa Cathedral ng Jolo, Sulu kung saan 20 ang nasawi at mahigit 70 ang nasugatan.
“Well, of course, he was so angry for one. For another, he is so disappointed that despite the movement to thread the path towards peace and development, there are still certain forces in that region who sowed terror and killed and murdered people,” sabi ni Presidential Spokesperson at Chief Presidential Legal Counsel Salvador Panelo.
Idinagdag ni Panelo na inatasan na ni Duterte ang Armed Forces of the Philippines na tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng mga tao at asikasuhin ang mga sugatan at kanilang pamilya.
“Well, he has already ordered the AFP to undertake measures so that this incident will not happen again,” ayon pa kay Panelo.
Samantala, sinabi ni Panelo na hihintayin na lamang ni Duterte ang resulta ng imbestigasyon para matukoy ang nasa likod ng pambobomba.
“He will wait for the investigation. Of course, one Islamic State is claiming responsibility. I read it in one of the briefers, that one terrorist group is claiming responsibility for that. But we have to await for the investigation – who’s behind it and what group or individuals, ayon pa kay Panelo.
Nakatakdang bisitahin ni Duterte ang pinangyarihan ng pambobomba kung saan sumabog ang isa sa loob mismo ng Cathedral ng Jolo sa kasagsagan ng misa at ang isa ay sa entrance mismo ng simbahan.
