IT’S the time of the year where showbiz ushers in a new batch of potential stars.
It is the season where up and coming celebrities make their presence felt in the field of showbiz.
Who will make a cut in 2019? This is our fearless forecast.
1. First in line is former De La Green Archers basketball player, Ricci Rivero, who has joined the University of the Philippines’ Fighting Maroons.
Lean and hunky, Ricci has multitude of fans, swooning girls and admiring bekis. More than his basketball skills, he is adored for his very Pinoy looks.
He is the perfect personification of Pinoy Adonis – tall, dark and handsome. As a matter of course, Ricci ventured into acting, his first film being the MMFF entry “OTLUM.”
2. Another is Vance Larena whose arresting presence in “Bakwit Boys” has earned for him notice from the critics.
He has been cast in Ipaglaban Mo by virtue of his very effective performance in the said film in which he played the eldest among the brood of four bakwit (eva-cuees).
His recent feat is winning the Best Actor In A Featured Role (Non-Musical) for “Dilaw O Pula” for Philippine Stagers Foundation.
3. Kadenang Ginto lead antagonist, Andrea Brillantes, is making her strong presence felt in the said afternoon drama.
While she’s not a relative newbie in the business, having appeared as the lead star of the 2013 primetime series Annaliza, it is only now that Andrea is making waves in the small screen.
4. Another is Francine Diaz, the good girl in Kadenang Ginto. This young lass from Cavite is a young Kathryn Bernardo in the making – sweet, demure and so simple.
She has earned adulation by playing the young girl which has become the object of envy of Andrea Brillante’s character in the said soap.
5. Sa GMA 7 naman, napapansin na si Kate Valdez, ang inangking anak ng character ni Cherie Gil sa TV series na Onanay.
We read one item on the internet in which it said that “Michael Sutton of Paper Cuts Magazine re-commended Kate Valdez to play Kate Bishop in a Marvel movie.
“Have you thought about becoming an actress in Hollywood? A few days ago, a friend of mine who works for Marvel asked me who I’d think should play Kate Bishop from the Young Avengers in a movie.
“I mentioned you immediately as Marvel is looking for Asian actors for their Master of Kung Fu film. They’re going in that direction. Would you dream of being in a Disney/Marvel movie?”
In that sense, may potential si Kate na mas makilala once she is chosen to play Kate Bishop.”
6. Remember that guy in the Jollibee Valentine commercial Enrico Cuenca na lihim na nagpapadala ng hamburger sa crush niya with a note?
Well, he’s now a young Kapuso hottie na kasama sa soap opera nina Nora Aunor at Cherie Gil. He got invited to join the Kapuso network after his TV ad became viral.
Given some meatier roles, malaki ang potential ni Enrico na mas kakilala.
7. This young housemate, Karina Bautista, has the ma-kings of a potential star.
This early ay pinag-aagawan na siya ng mga boy housemates sa Bahay ni Kuya. If she plays her card well, mas kikinang ang kanyang estrella sa paglabas ng PBB house.
