Dingdong binantaan ng ilang Dongyan fans dahil kay Risa Hontiveros

FANATICISM should transcend politics.
Ito ang aming paniniwala of a fan or supporter ng kanyang iniidolong artista. Such is not the case ng ilang mga tagahanga ni Mr. Dantes na balitang tatakbo (pero hindi na nga niya itinuloy) sa pagka-Senador sa ilalim ng Liberal Party, ang oposisyon.

Sa halip, mas pinili ni DD na pag-ukulan ng atensiyon ang kanyang misis now heavy with their second child.
Bagama’t may mga nasiyahang fans sa kanyang desisyon, DD’s supposed supporters have taken to social media their views on his political leanings slamming the LP. Ewan kung mga “DDS” (Dingdong Supporters) ‘yon or DDS (the President’s supporters) that we know.

This is not meant to endear ourselves to DD (it’s not our agenda), lulugar lang kami. It can be any other actor, or any other male or female senator, maka-administrasyon man o kalaban.
Para magkasama lang sina DD at Sen. Risa Hontiveros with the actor captioning it, “Happy to share your advocacy,” parang napakalaking krimen ang nagawa ng una?

Batbat ng tira laban kay DD ang comment box (now disabled), kesyo parang isinusumpa nilang madikit ito sa senadora. Worse, may ilan pa sa kanila ang nagbantang ia-unfollow nila ang aktor. Others outright did just that.
Mga berdaderong fans nga kaya ‘yon ni Mr. Dantes? Pro-bably not.

Anuman kasing political color o alliance ang mapipiling aniban ng sinumang artista, ideally ay dapat nakasunod ang mga tagahanga.
DD’s political leanings don’t define his character, kung paanong hindi rin natin masisisi kung may mga artista ring ganu’n na lang kung sambahin ang Duterte administration sa kabila ng ilang ‘di kanais-nais na polisiya nito.
Kung totoong mahal nila si Mr. Dantes, anuman ang desisyon nito’y dapat nilang igalang. Hindi na pinag-uusapan on which political side of the fence any celebrity is. Respetuhan is the key word.
If at all these fans adore DD, they should respect their idol not necessarily share with his beliefs or principles in life.
Ito ang kabaligtaran ng mga tagahanga ni Congresswoman Vilma Santos-Recto. It’s their revered idol per se, ang pagkatao’t katangian nito ang minamahal nila. The hell they care about kung saang partido kaalyado si Ate Vi from the time she became mayor of Lipa City, served as governor of the entire Batangas province at ngayo’y Lipa Representative.
DD’s sharing Hontiveros’ advocacy should be a non-issue. Bakit hindi ang mas tingnan ng mga DD fans ang advocacy rather than the woman behind it?
Kung galit sila kay Hontiveros o sino pa mang LP member, isantabi nila ang adbokasiya, the “intangible” as its core value speaks for itself.
In the same breadth, kahit imbiyerna ang maraming mga mamamayan kay Mocha Uson, kung meron din naman siyang maganda’t kahanga-hangang adbokasiya, our aversion toward her and the goodness in her heart should not come as a package deal.
Advocacy, if it’s meant for the common good, is one of positivity which needs to gain support. Kumbaga sa paglalaro ng Pinoy Henyo, hindi siya tao.
At lalong hindi siya “tae” (pardon the grossness).
