6 Pinoy lalaban sa Thailand Memory Championship

NAKATAKDANG umalis ng bansa ngayon ang delegasyon na ilalaban ng  Philippine Mind Sports Association sa 6th Thailand International Memory Championship na gaganapin sa bukas, Hulyo 6, sa Kasetsart University sa Bangkok, Thailand.

Sasalang sa adult category sina Kevin Carl Aquino ng Far Eastern University at Abbygale Monderin ng World Citi Colleges habang maglalaro sa juniors division sina Ydda Graceille Mae Habab ng Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Mikhaila Paraiso ng FEU-Makati at Rhojani Joy Nasiad ng St. Scholastica’s Academy Marikina.

Ang tanging kalahok ng koponan sa kids division ay si Kian Christopher Aquino ng San Benildo-Rizal.

Ayon kay Roberto Racasa, ang head of delegation at coach ng koponan, sasali rin sa taunang torneong ito ang mga mental athletes mula Japan, India, Mongolia at host Thailand.

Noong isang taon, nakopo ni Mark Anthony Castañeda, ang kauna-unahang Grandmaster of Memory ng Pilipinas, ang overall championship sa naturang torneo. Hindi siya sasali bukas para mabigyan ang iba pang Pinoy ng pagkakataong manalo sa Bangkok.

Ang kampanya ng mga Pinoy dito ay sinuportahan ng San Miguel Corporation, Milo, Dabaw Tourism Operators Association (Dabtoa), Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) at Philippine Sports Commission (PSC). Nagbigay din ng suporta sa mga atletang taga-Marikina sina Mayor Del de Guzman at Rep. Marcy Teodoro.
