“If there is a God then there is no poverty. If there is God then nobody dies of hunger,” sabi ni Duterte sa kanyang talumpati sa Cebu City Martes ng gabi.
Matatandaang nabatikos si Duterte nang tawagin niyang “stupid” ang Diyos, bagamat kalaunan ay nangakong titigil sa pag-atake sa Simbahan.
“Ang problema that God is not quite — I don’t know how he works out his — because… Ako naman, kasi if you are God, you don’t create hell. If you are God you don’t create wars,” ayon pa kay Duterte.
Binatikos din niya ang pagtanggi ng mga pari na maglibing ng Linggo.
“If there is God then you are not refused burial services on Sundays. Kaya nababaho mo ‘yung patay, sabihin mo, Mayor, ganun. Why? Because nobody wants to do services ang patay on Sunday,” ayon pa kay Duterte.
