INULAN ang mga pasahero ng Metro Rail Transit (MRT) matapos namang mag-leak ang isang air conditioning unit ng isa sa mga bagon nito
Nag-sorry naman ang Department of Transportation sa nangyari at sinabi na unti-unti ng pinapalitan ang mga air conditioning unit ng mga bagon upang maiwasan ito.
Kumalat sa social media ang video ng pagtulo ng tubig sa loob ng bagon at ang pagpapayong ng mga pasahero sa loob.
“MRT-3’s ACUs were last replaced in 2008 as part of the system’s 1st general overhaul 8 years after it started operating in 2000,” saad ng DoTR sa isang pahayag. “General overhaul is due every 8 years, meaning the ACUs were supposed to be replaced as part of the system’s 2nd general overhaul due to have been completed in 2016.”
Bumili na umano ang MRT ng 78 unit ng air con sa halagang P116 milyon. Darating ang 42 unit sa susunod na linggo.
“Considering the importance of ACUs for passenger convenience, ACUs from original equipment manufacturer are among the components that were already procured by MRT-3’s transition team earlier this year.”
