“…. pending extensive review and resolution on the issue of the respondent’s travel time charge of P2.00 per minute in their fare structure and consistent with the Order of the Board dated 27 December 2016, the Board directs respondents, My Taxi.Ph, Inc., to immediately suspend the imposition of P2 per minute charge. The Order shall be effective until further Order of the Board,” saad ng desisyon ng LTFRB.
Ikinatuwa naman ni PBA Rep. Koko Nograles ang utos ng LTFRB dahil malinaw umano na labis ang sinisingil ng Grab at itinago pa nila ito sa LTFRB.
“We thank the LTFRB for the suspension of the P2/minute charges that were clearly not approved by the Board and were kept secret from the operators, drivers, and riders,” ani Nograles.
Umaasa rin si Nograles na pagbibigyan ng LTFRB ang hiling nito na ipa-refund sa Grab ang sobrang siningil sa mga pasahero. “Hindi dapat tanggapin ang palusot ng Grab na tinanggap naman ng pasahero ang fixed rate.”
Iginiit niya na hindi mga driver ng Grab ang dapat na mag-refund kundi ang Grab dahil wala namang kinalaman ang mga ito sa reprogramming ng Grab algorithm kung saan sektretong ipinasok ang P2/minutong singil.
Sa kwenta ni Nograles umaabot sa P3.24 bilyon ang dapat na i-refund ng Grab.
Sinabi naman ni Quezon City Rep. Winston Castelo, chairman ng House committee on Metro Manila Development, na maaaring gawin ang refund sa pamamagitan ng credit voucher o rebates sa pamamagitan ng Grab apps.
“Like commuters, many of the drivers were unaware of the additional charges that Grab has imposed since it took over the operations of Uber which made a virtual monopoly in the transport network vehicle system business,” ani Castelo. “Riders also complained against Grab’s spike in rates to almost double during rush hours which was not done when Uber was still a competition.”
