Bagong traffic scheme ipatutupad sa mga kalsada sa QC para sa itinatayong MRT-7

INIHAYAG ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) na magkakaroon ng isang dry run bukas para sa bagong traffic scheme na ipatutupad sa kahabaan ng Commonwealth Avenue at Elliptical Road sa Quezon City.
Layunin ng bagong traffic scheme na maibsan ang masikip na daloy na trapiko sa lugar kung saan itinatayo ang Metro Rail Transit-7 (MRT-7) na magiging tuloy-tuloy na.
Sinabi ni MMDA Acting General Manager Jojo Garcia na simula bukas magiging one-way traffic na lamang ang Maharlika Street mula Elliptical Road hanggang Masaya Street at Masaya Street mula Maginhawa Street hanggang Commonwealth Avenue.
Idinagdag ni Garcia na pinapayuhan ang lahat ng mga public utility vehicles, kasama na ang mga jeepney at UV Express mula Elliptical Road na gamitin ang Maharlika Street at kumaliwa sa kahabaan ng Masaya Street papunta sa kani-kanilang destinasyon.
“The new scheme would be fully implemented on Monday,” sabi ni Garcia.
Maglalagay din ang MMDA ng mga plastic barrier para ihawalay ang mga public autility vehicles na pupunta sa iba’t ibang direkton at mga bakod para manatili ang mga pedestrian sa loading at unloading na mga lugar, ayon pa kay Garcia.
“Enforcement of traffic rules and regulations and discipline are the keys to address traffic problem here. We are asking for the cooperation of the public,” sabi ni Garcia.
