Ang paliwanag ni KZ, “What’s good about taking risk especially at this point of competition, shows that you’re serious with your craft. I want to show my respect to the Chinese audience and to the Chinese culture and Chinese music.”
Naibahagi ng Philippine pride na nagustuhan niya kaagad ang melody ng kantang may English title na “What Do You Want From Me” na kinanta ni Joker Xue, sikat na Chinese singer/record producer at actor.
“I actually heard this song by accident, I instantly fell in love with the melody of the song. When I found out the song really meant I fell in love more with the song,” pahayag ng dalaga.
Tatlong sikat na awitin ang ginawang medley ni KZ, ang “What Do You Want From Me”, “All The Things You Never Knew” (Leehom Wang) at “Still Hurting” (Power Station) na inaral talaga niya ang tamang pagkanta at pati tamang pagbigkas.
Aniya, “I had about less than two weeks to learn the song, I always asked them, how do you do it, how do you position your tongue and your teeth, so you can pronounce that word (lovers)? If I don’t get it perfect, I hope I can go close to the almost perfect pronounciation.”
“If I’ll stay or go home, I think the Philippines will be very proud because I did everything that I could,” sambit ng dalaga.
At nang matapos na ang performance ni KZ, “I like the way she ended it, didn’t exaggerate it,” sabi ni Hua Chenyu.
May nagsabing, “Not easy for her, so hard (pagkanta ng Mandarin song).”
Hirit naman ni Wang Feng, “Good, I think, she picks the right songs too.”
“A lot of facial expression and very touching, too,” sabi naman ng isa sa staff ng Hunan TV.
“The problem is people react to hearsay. I didnt sing Anak, and if you did a little bit of research you’d know. & even if I actually did sing Anak, they’d appreciate it because the Mandarin and Cantonese version of Anak is famous in China,” tweet ni KZ.
