NFA supply ng bigas pang-2 araw na lang

Pinaiimbestigahan ng isang solon ang kakulangan ng suplay ng bigas ng National Food Authority.

    Ayon kay Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano mula sa 15-araw na buffer stock ay dalawang araw na lamang ang hawak na suplay ng bigas ng NFA.

      “The shortage in supply of NFA rice will certainly lead to a sudden increase on the price of rice in the market, to the detriment of the Filipino people, as its availability is expected to moderate the price of commercial rice sold to the public,” ani Alejano.

      Sa kasalukuyan ang bigas ng NFA ay nagkakahalaga ng P27 hanggang P32 kada kilo samantalang ang commercial rice ay P36 hanggang P41 kada kilo.

      Iginiit ni Alejano na ang mandato ng NFA ay tiyakin na mayroong suplay ng bigas na kasya sa 15 araw o 400,000 metriko tonelada.

    “The reported shortage in rice supply and the steep price of rice in the current market demonstrates the inefficiency of the NFA and betrays their mandate of ensuring the food security of the country and in maintaining stability of supply and price of rice.”

    Inihain ni Alejano ang House Resolution 1648 upang makapagsagawa ng imbestigasyon ang Kamara de Representantes.
