“Parang — I went to Marawi. We circled for a while but we could not make an opening there. Hindi ho kami makapasok so we proceeded to El Salvador just to view the damage before landing here. But, your place is really one of my destinations today,” sabi ni Duterte matapos pangunahan ang briefing ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) sa Lanao del Norte.
Kasabay nito, nagpahayag ng pagkalungkot si Duterte sa sunod-sunod na trahedya sa bansa bago matapos ang 2017.
“Napakalungkot ho sabihin but we have been — we ended or we will end the 2017 with a bang of so many deaths of the Filipinos, ranging from careless to accidents and the typhoons. There seems to be a sorrow prevailing in the country today and it was not already a good Christmas day for all of us, thinking that there are persons suffering,” ayon pa kay Duterte.
Ito’y matapos naman ang pananalasa ng mga bagyong Urduja at Vinta at ang sunog sa mall sa Davao City na ikinamatay ng 37 katao.
“In my city, I could not move yesterday. I was planning to go somewhere else. For today, lugar ninyo. Because I have to condole with the relatives there waiting. I stood until morning time in just one place because my daughter begged off, si Inday Sara to make the announcement na hindi daw niya — Sabi niya, ‘Pa, hindi ko kaya,” ayon pa kay Duterte.
