IGINIIT ng Palasyo na ligtas na magtungo sa Pilipinas kasunod ng ulat na 500 turista mula sa Japan ang nagkansela ng biyahe bunsod ng pagpasok ng Abu Sayyaf sa Bohol.
Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella, kampante ang gobyerno na hindi maaapektuhan ang turismo sa bansa sa kabila ng nangyari sa Bohol at sa sunod-sunod na travel advisory na ipinalabas ng ilang bansa.
“First and foremost, the ASEAN meeting has proceeded in Bohol, in the area. And also, as far as reports coming from PNP has come to us, it’s reposing efforts on the security preparations for ASEAN of course,” sabi ni Abella.
Matatandaan na tinangkang kubkubin ng teroristang grupong Abu Sayyaf ang Bohol noong Abril 11.
Inamin naman ni Abella na walang kontrol ang pamahalaan sa paglalabas ng travel warning laban sa Pilipinas.
“Of course the advisories come from outside. These are not within our control. On the other hand, we are responding to that. And as far as we can, as far as we have, we have done our due diligence regarding the matter. However, on the whole, the tourist interest in the Philippines continues to surge.
