June 1, 2013 “AN URGENT CALL FOR HELP!!! PLEASE FORWARD THIS LETTER HANGGANG MAKARATING SA PWEDENG MAKATULONG AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. My niece composed this letter to the Philippine Consulate in Dubai.
She’s seeking help for JONAH MARIANO, PE Teacher in Indian High School, a UP graduate, 27 years old, a single mom of a 3 year-old kid. Please read.
Good morning Mam, I’m sorry to bother you but I hope you have the time to read this. I got your Facebook account from my husband Arjun Binalla. I am an OFW here in Dubai working as a Music teacher in Indian High School. I am a concerned citizen also for the welfare of our heroes OFW. All of us went here legally. A good friend of mine, Jonah Mariano, PE teacher, graduate of UP Diliman, a Single Mom, and a hardworking employee, only 27 years old was diagnosed as having viral meningitis according to her lab test.
It’s been two weeks now since she was rushed at Rashid Hospital a government hospital here in Dubai. Yesterday according to our friends there are NO signs of developments on her condition. Last night she almost left us but luckily she was revived by the medical team.
My friend told me a doctor came in to check Jonah, then he ask how was her and doctor answered I don’t know, I still didn’t see her medical records. Jonah was having then seizures, and one of our friend noticed that she has crossed paralysis.
Mam, humihingi po kami ng tulong sa inyo, we know you have a good heart.
Before all these happened Jonah was requesting emergency leave so she could go home to our country and take necessary medication and to see her son Gab, but the principal denied it. She didn’t believe until she saw her after I think 3 weeks; Jonah was not able to talk anymore. She then told to bring her to ER. This hospital where she is admitted now, for three times she went here, before this incident but they were always saying UTI and heart conditions.
But Jonah was showing signs/symptoms of viral meningitis, vomiting, severe headache…Now all bacteria are in her brain, she is unconscious, paralyzed. The school that we are working is helping Jonah and I think they will shoulder half of the expenses. But we need support from our embassy or consul here. God bless you and your family.”
UPDATE:
