Hinamon ng isang solon ang mga miyembro ng Gabinete ni Pangulong Duterte na inendorso ng Communist Party of the Philippines-New Peoples Army na kumalas na sa gobyerno matapos ang pagtanggal sa ceasefire.
“Cabinet officials nominated by the CPP-NDF should now ask themselves whether they will continue serving President Duterte after the latter’s declaration that war will continue against the communist rebels,” ani Akbayan Rep. Tom Villarin.
Hindi partikular na tinukoy ni Villarin ang mga makakaliwa na nasa Gabinete ni Duterter pero kabilang dito sina Agrarian Reform Sec. Rafael “Ka Paeng” Mariano, National Anti-Poverty Commission chairperson Liza Maza, Social Welfare and Development Sec. Judy Taguiwalo at ang dating Kabataan Rep. na si Terry Ridon na chairperson ng Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor.
“I leave it to their conscience,” ani Villarin. “How can you serve two masters at the same time?… The people will judge them harshly if they cannot decide what path to follow. Hindi ito panahon para mamangka sa dalawang ilog dahil alam nila kung anong anyo meron ang Duterte administration.”
Matapos alisin ng NPA ang unilateral ceasefire ay nagdesisyon na rin si Duterte na alisin ang idineklara niyang tigil putukan.
