Pamimigay ng condom sa school hindi pa sure

Hindi pa binibigyan ng Department of Education ng ‘green light’ ang plano ng Department of Health na mamigay ng condom sa mga eskuwelahan.
Sa isang pahayag, sinabi in Education Sec. Leonor Briones na mayroong informal discussion kaugnay ng panukala pero wala pa umanong pinal na desisyon kung papayagan ito o hindi.
“That is a very sensitive issue. . . Hindi sila tatayo diyan sa pinto at bawat pumasok ay bibigyan kagaya ng mga nagbibigay ng mga leaflets sa shopping center, hindi ganun. . .  At hindi ka magdi-distribute kung walang counselling, kailangan may magpapaliwanag. It’s not going to be a mass event,” ani Briones.
Kailangan din umanong pag-aralan kung anong baitang ang dapat na bigyan ng condom dahil mahalaga na mayroon ng kaalaman ang mga ito at kanilang naiintindihan kung para saan ito.
“Most likely, it will be at the level of junior high and senior high school na makaka-discern at makakaintindi na yung mga bata. . . Siguro I was 11 or 12, our teacher at that time was already teaching us about reproductive health,” dagdag pa ng kalihim.
Layunin ng pamimigay ng condom ang maimulat ang mga kabataan kaugnay ng HIV AIDS at teenage pregnancy.
Tiniyak naman ni Briones na poproteksyunan nila ang mga estudyante at kanilang pamilya sa gagawing desisyon.
