SINABI ni Sen. Leila de Lima na posibleng maharap si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa impeachment dahil sa pagpatay sa mga suspek sa droga.
“I should say that that is an impeachable offense. That is a culpable violation of the Constitution,” sabi ni de Lima.“That is betrayal of public trust and that constitutes high crimes because these are mass murders.”
Sa panayam ng CNN sa Washington, idinagdag ni de Lima na paglabag sa Konstitusyon ang pag-amin ni Duterte na personal niyang pinatay ang ang mga sangkot sa droga.
“Mass murders are considered among high crimes and that high crimes is a ground for impeachment under our Constitution,” ayon pa kay dagdag ni de Lima
“I am hoping one day he (Duterte) is struck by his conscience and order the police to stop the killings. The moment it is done I am sure that killings would stop,” ayon pa kay de Lima.
