Pinag-iingat ng EcoWaste Coalition ang mga lalaki sa mga mapanganib na sangkap na inihahalo sa mga pabango at cologne na maaari umanong makaapekto sa kanilang sexual performance.
Ayon sa EcoWaste bukod sa pabango at cologne, dapat maging mapanuri ang mga lalaki sa pagbili ng shaving cream, aftershave at mga katulad na produkto na maaaring makaapekto sa kanilang reproductive health.
“The safety of cosmetics is not only a women’s issue as men and boys nowadays use a variety of cosmetics and personal care products, making them just as vulnerable to ingredients that can possibly harm their reproductive health and fertility,” ani Thony Dizon, coordinator ng EcoWaste-Project Protect.
Maaari umanong haluan ng mga endocrine disrupting chemicals gaya ng phthalates na magreresulta sa mahinang kalidad ng semilya, pagkabaog, altered hormone levels at testicular at prostate cancer.
Bukod sa EcoWaste ay nagpalabas na rin ng ganitong babala ang Campaign for Safe Cosmetics, isang proyekto ng Breast Cancer Fund na nakabase sa San Francisco, USA.
“Although it’s just one little word on the ingredient label, ‘fragrance’ can contain dozens, even hundreds of chemicals, including hormone-disrupting phthalates and synthetic musks,” babala ng grupo.
