Chiz Escudero nagbitiw bilang chair ng Senate Finance committee

ISANG araw matapos ang huling State of the Nation Address ni Pangulong Aquino, nagbitiw si Senador Francis Escudero bilang chair ng Senate Finance Committee upang makaiwas sa budget deliberation at sa posibleng intriga na gagamitin niya ito para i-push ang kanyang political plans.

Bukod sa pagiging chair ng Finance committee, nagbitiw din si Escudero bilang co-chairman ng Joint Congressional Oversight Committee on Public Expenditures.

Isinumite niya ang kanyang letter of resignation kay Senate President Franklin Drilon. “I believe that it behooves me to step down at this juncture to ensure that deliberations on the General Appropriations Bill (GAB) – considered the single most important piece of legislation passed by Congress each year – are untainted by suspicions or perceptions of partisan politics,” ayon sa senador.

“It is, Mr. President, what propriety requires; it is, I believe, what our people expect from us all: delicadeza,” dagdag pa ng senador.

Paliwanag pa ni Escudero kailangan niyang magbitiw dahil sa posibleng pagtakbo niya sa mas mataas na posisyon sa darating na 2016 elections.
