Met Hayden Kho over merienda last Monday.
Hayden invited us through Manay Lolit Solis. He said that he just wanted to meet us after we wrote something about him recently and this concerns Katrina Halili’s dropping of the cases filed against him.
I had it all wrong daw, say ni Hayden. I told him I just reacted on an entertainment website article which said that Katrina’s dropping all cases filed against him.
So, sabi niya, whatever is pending, sa-sign-an niya na tapos na lahat. “So, gusto na rin niya mag-move on, e. May anak na siya,” saad ni Vicki.
That’s the full context of the article by which we reacted to. Then tell it to them, Hayden. We appreciate Hayden’s gesture of reaching out to us. Very few could muster enough guts to reach out to writers.
Actually, si Hayden lang ang nag-reach out sa amin and that explains how he was brilliantly raised by his parents.
When he asked us kung may galit kami sa kanya, we flatly told him na wala kaming galit sa kanya when we wrote the item about him. Wala, ‘no. Bakit naman kami magagalit sa kanya? He has not done us any wrong and we don’t have any relationship with him to malign him.
Isa pa, we don’t bash celebrities. While we may have used harsh words in our writing, it’s our way of stressing a point. Detached kami sa mga artista. We don’t reach out to them.
We were never friends with any celebrity so that we can write about anyone without fear of maligning them. Yan ang prinsipyo namin. So, how can we malign somebody we do not know, ‘di ba, or we don’t have any relationship with?
