Nagwagi nga siyang Best Director in 2009 for “Kinatay”.Makakatunggali ng “Taklub” ang “Alias Maria” by José Luis Rugeles Gracia, “Lamb” by Yared Zeleke, “Cemetery of Splendour” by Apichatpong Weerasethakul.

“Taklub” is a movie about how a mom (Nora) was not able to cope up with the loss of her three children due to typhoon Yolanda.
Nag-start ang Nora-Brillante collaboration sa “Thy Womb” which earned for them plaudits and awards in the international film festival circles.

Sabi nga ng colleague nating si Mel Navarro, “Ate Guy, for the record, is the ONLY Filipino actress whose films have been shown in the top three – and most prestigious – film festivals in the world — Cannes International Filmfest in France (Bona and now Taklub), Berlin International Filmfest in Germany (Himala) and Venice International Filmfest in Italy (Thy Womb starring Ms. Nora Aunor).”

Siyempre wala. She’s forever second fiddle to Ate Guy, ‘no! Oopps, walang kokontra. Ang kumontra ay isang MALAKING SINUNGALING.
