GOOD day Ma’am!
I have inquiry regarding Occupational Safety and health. We have 50 workers and I want my workers to be equipped in occupational safety and health. How can I arrange a seminar with the OSHC and my people. I already attended an occupational safety in DTI since I am a general contractor. Is this the same? I really want to be enlightened.
Thanks for your
assistance.
Engr. Ensomo
REPLY: Dear Engr. Ensomo,
We are glad that you are prioritizing the safety and health of your workers, especially since you are in the construction industry, which we all know is a very hazardous industry by nature. First, you need to have a safety officer who has undergone the mandatory 40-hour Construction Safety Training, which I believe is also offered by the DTI-CMDF. It would be good if you have another worker who will take this course and be designated as the safety officer.
Your other workers can take the one-day construction safety orientation. For this you may get in contact with the DOLE-accredited Safety Training Organizations. Their names and contact details maybe found on our website:www.oshc.dole.gov.ph
If you have further questions and want to know more, please don’t hesitate to contact us at tel.nos.: 9296036 to 39. Thank you so much and we hope that you will continue to be an OSH advocate. We need more workers like you.
