Ni Leifbilly Begas
NAGHAIN ng resolusyon ang isang kongresista upang gawing national artist si Nora Aunor o Maria Leonora Teresa Cabaltera Aunor sa tunay na buhay.
Inihain ni Paranaque Rep. Roilo Golez ang House Resolution 2317 upang himukin sina Pangulong Aquino, ang Cultural Center of the Philippines at National Commission for Culture and the Arts na gawing national artist si Aunor.
Si Aunor na tinaguriang Superstar ng Philippine entertainment ay namutiktik ng mga parangal kabilan na rito ang paggawad sa kanya bilang isa sa 10 Best Asian Actresses of the Decade noong 2010.
“The Filipino people is now entangled with so many public issues like the seemingly uncontrollable rise of prices of fuel and commodities but we should not lose hope. There are a lot of things going for our country and the enshrinement of Ms. Nora Aunor as a National Artist is a sure feel good thing that the Filipinos can hold on to. Ate Guy is truly a national treasure and her achievements as an artist and her contributions to Philippine Art are more than enough to qualify her to be named as national artist.”
Ang pagiging national artist ay dumaraan sa isang proseso. Ang NCCA at CCP ang nagrerekomenda nito sa Office of the President at ang pangulo ang siyang nag-aapruba.
