PINALABAS ni Pangulong Aquino ang Proclamation Number 826 na nagdedeklara sa Hulyo 29, Martes bilang regular holiday sa buong bansa bilang paggunita ng Eid’l Fitr o Feast of Ramadan ng mga kababayan nating Muslim.
“To promote cultural understanding and integration, the entire Filipino nation should have the full opportunity to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in the observance and celebration of Eid’l Fitr,” sabi ni Aquino sa pinirmahang Proclamation 826.
Ang Eid’l Fitr ay ipinagdiriwang ng mga Muslim tatlong araw pagkatapos ng buwan ng pag-aayuno nila.
“In order to bring the religious and cultural significance of the Eid’l Fitr to the fore of national consciousness, it is necessary to declare Tuesday, 29 July 2014, as a regular holiday throughout the country,” dagdag ni Aquino.
Pinirmahan ni Aquino ang Proclamation 826 noong Hulyo 10.
