Pacman kontra Algieri aprub kay Roach

WALANG nakikitang problema si Freddie Roach sakaling ituloy ang pagkikita nina Manny Pacquiao at ang bagong World Boxing Organization (WBO) light welterweight champion Chris Algieri sa Nobyembre.

Tinalo ni Algieri ang alaga ni Roach na si Ruslan Provodnikov sa pamamagitan ng split decision.

Makulay ang panalo dahil bumangon ang 30-anyos at walang talo matapos ang 20 laban na Amerikanong boksingero mula sa dalawang knockdowns sa unang round. Sarado rin ang kanyang kanang mata at duguan ang ilong pero ginamitan niya ng jabs at footwork para makuha ang pagsang-ayon ng dalawa sa tatlong hurado.

“Algieri is a real nice kid. I never heard of him before this fight. He made a good statement with this fight,” wika ni Roach sa Boxingscene.

Si Pacquiao, na kampeon ng WBO welterweight division, ay nakatakdang bumalik ng ring sa Nobyembre 22 sa Macau, China at nakahanay si Algieri dahil nasabi ni Top Rank CEO at promoter Bob Arum na ang mananalo sa naturang laban ay isasama sa pagpipiliang katunggali ni Pacman.

Kung mangyari ang labang ito, nakikita ni Roach na bababa sa 140 pounds ang Kongresista ng Sarangani Province boxer pero hindi niya nakikita na magiging problema ito.

“He’s pretty tall, rangy. I have no problem getting Pacquiao ready to beat him,” ginarantiya pa ng batikang trainer.

Nasasabik naman si Algieri sa pagsukat sa husay ni Pacquiao dahil target niya ngayon ang pinakamalaking laban na puwede niyang harapin.
