‘X-Men days of future past’ kumplikado ang kuwento pero kumpleto ang mga bida

“X-MEN Days Of Future Past” does not disappoint. The US summer is here so at least one big Hollywood movie gets to premiere every week vying for this year’s biggest movie and so far hawak ito ng kabubukas last weekend na “Godzilla” but we doubt if the Japanese monster lizard can hold on to this longer now that “X-Men” is about to descend us.

Opening today nationwide ang seventh installment ng “X Men” franchise (including the two “Wolverine” movies) and last Monday, 20th Century Fox  gave a 3D premiere sa cinema 1 ng SM Megamall so go kami ni Frederick Herrera less Jeff Agudelo who is planning his wedding with girlfriend, so congratulations to our bagets.

Considered as the best storyline in the “Marvel X-Men” series since it was published in 1981 (we have the trade paperback edition but could not find it when we wanted to re-read this), “Days Of Future Past” 50 years after 1973 – that would be 10 years from now – where the X Men are being killed, demolished and murdered by the Sentinels na gawa ni Dr. Bolivar Trask (Peter Dinklage of Game of Thrones) in the 70s following his “death” from the hands of Raven/Mystique (Oscar award winner Jennifer Lawrence) whose DNA was ironically used to start the Sentinel line.

To stop this, Logan/Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) had to travel back in the 1970’s through the help of Kitty Pride (Ellen Page) to find the original X Men Raven, Erik Lensherr/Magneto (Michael Fassbender), Charles Xavier (James McAvoy), Hank/Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and the very young Peter Maximoff (Evan Peters) who will become Quicksilver.

Kaso, nakakalakad na ulit si Xavier and that means nawala ang kaniyang mutant power kapalit nito; Erik is inside Pentagon as the prime suspect of killing President John F Kennedy (it turns out it’s the other way around and fun din ang reasoning) and Raven is on her own, nililigtas ang ibang natitirang X Men na nasa Saigon being forced to fight the Vietnam War but not using their power.

Meanwhile, in the future, the fortress is being guarded by Storm (Oscar award winner Halle Berry), Magneto (Ian Mckellen), Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Iceman (Shawn Ashmore), Colossus (Daniel Cudmore), Bishop (Omar Sy), Blink (Bingbing Fan), Sunspot (Adan Canto) and Warpath (Booboo Stewart) but it was a bleak future as almost everyone dies defending the cause. Don’t worry that was not a spoiler.

The story is complicated if you don’t know where to start but otherwise it’s very fun to watch. For one thing, all the X Men of past and future are almost complete including the unaccredited Jean Grey (Famke Janssen) and Scott Summers (James Marsden), the one we thought tinanggal ang participation na si Rogue (Oscar award winner Anna Paquin) and the 60s/70s version of Havok (David Till) and Toad (Evan Jonigkeit).

If that is not all, we get to see what happened to some of the original X Men na unaccredited na rin like Angel and Riptide (which you have to watch to see).

Hindi naman ganoon kahirap intindihin actually ang kuwento na pabalik-balik from the 70s to the future dahil may connection ito being Wolverine in trance.

We specially like the part when Wolverine made the young Xavier to promise him that everything will be back to what it should be and so we see the “dead” Jean Grey, Scott Summers and Storm nga back in the present (their future).

Really fun to watch ang “X Men Days Of Future Past” dahil sa dami ng “references” even President Richard Nixon (Mark Camacho) and the young Major Bill Stryker (Josh Helman) who will torture Wolverine in the future na “X Men Origin: Wolverine” but with a different star.

And by the way, kung si Kitty Pryde ang naglilipat-lipat sa past and future of the original comics story, since Wolverine is the bigger character and star, naging daan na lang siya for Wolverine to do that but we don’t think any fan boy will not like this change dahil tama naman talaga ang reasoning ni Wolverine kung bakit siya ang dapat na ibalik sa past.

Watch “X Men Days Of Future Past”. Talagang seamless ang pagkakadikit ng kuwento nito sa “X Men First Class” and “X Men The Last Stand”. If not for that, watch this for the biggest number of big stars and Oscar winners and the nominated actors in just one movie including Hugh, Michael, Ellen and Ian.

Kung may pagkakamali kami this time, nagmadali kaming lumabas sa sinehan to watch what will be the eighth “X Men” storyline as friend Deck has to go work pa that time so we cannot give you a spoiler on this kaya we have plans of repeating the movie again today just to see what to expect sa next “X Men”.

We’re not sure if the comic sequel of the story, “Days Of Future Present” will be used next but we hope so although we saw the title of the third installment na, “X Men Apocalypse” na sa comics ay crossover with Spiderman naman.
