FOR the longest time ay sa korte na lang nagkikita ang dating magkaibigan or shall we say dating mag-kliyenteng sina Atty. Ferdie Topacio and GMA 7 artist Bea Binene but that friendship went pfft and sa korte sila nag-land.
Sa pagkakaalam ko, both sued each other for some reason. Atty. Topacio, a topnotch lawyer and dear friend of ours, sued Ms. Binene with a civil suit with damages and estafa charges while the young girl naman sued him for malpractice.
Pero all these are now water under the bridge and hopefully, kahit halimbawa’y di na sila puwedeng maging magkaibigan, at least hindi na sila magkaaway. Here’s the message I got from dear friend Atty. Topacio yesterday morning:
“Hi. Good morning my love. I just want you to be the first to know that Bea and I have settled our differences. We have withdrawn our cases against each other and have come to an agreement as to damages. We will issue a joint statement later.
“I am gratified and relieved that we have put our differences behind us so we can both move on with our lives from emotional burdens. I will continue to think of Bea with fond affection, as she will always remain a part of my life story.
“Jobert, my friend, thank you for standing by me. I won’t forget it”. So sweet of my dear friend, Atty. Ferdie Topacio, for these messages. Same way that I would like to thank him for trusting me with this story.
Let’s not go into details kung paano sila nagkaproblema ni Bea Binene. Buhay na saksi ako kung paano tumulong si Atty. Topacio sa batang ito during her trying times.
Also, the man has invested not just emotions for her but money as well – sponsoring her album and all. But let’s not waste energy thinking about those anymore. Ang pinakamahalaga sa mga oras na ito ay nagkaayos na sila.
“Kung hindi man kami maging magkaibigan na, at least hindi na kami magkaaway. Pag nagkasalubong kami sa mga gatherings, puwede na kaming magbatian.
Okay na yung ganoon,” ani Atty. Ferdie Topacio na napakabuting tao. I know how it feels to have cases. It’s not the fear of being jailed, ha! Ha-hahaha! But yung abala that goes with it.
Imagine, instead na nagpapakasarap ka pa sa pagtulog sa umaga, you have to wake up early to catch the 8:30 a.m. hearing. Di ba, parang parusa sa bawat isa ito?
Nakakabuwisit talaga pero wala ka namang choice kung nasuong ka sa ganyang sitwasyon. Kaya itong pagbabati nina Atty Topacio and Bea is a big relief for both of them, even sa mga friends nila tulad namin – hindi na kami mag-aalala ngayon kung saan patutungo ang kaso nila. We are very happy talaga, I swear.
Congrats kaibigan Ferdie. In God we trust. Sounds familiar? Ha-hahaha!
