“The government should decide for the general welfare of the majority. Sabihing I (President Aquino) will do this for you (OFWs) as a leader to apologize. Let us not wait for a major pain, mawawalan ka ng options,” ani Bichara. “Sanctions on Filipino tourists and worst, those working in Hong Kong may be the next. Well, they could lose $3 billion from Filipino tourists, but Hong Kong can afford to lose that. We should prepare for the worst, the DFA should be ready to take action if worse comes to worst.”
“Why should we? Do Hong Kong officials apologize to us when Filipinos die in Hong Kong? No, they do not. This punishment that they are imposing on us is too much. This is not the way to resolve what happened during the Manila hostage taking. Why do we have to scare each other here?” tanong ni Tambunting.
