Mahirap sa PH dumami pa—SWS

LALO pang dumami ang bilang ng mga pamilyang Pinoy na naniniwalang sila ay mahirap, ayon sa huling survey na ginawa ng Social Weather Station noong Disyembre.

Ayon sa survey, na ginawa noong Disyembre 11 hanggang 16, umakyat sa 11.8 milyon o 55 porsyento ng pamilyang Pinoy ang nagsasabi na sila ay mahirap, habang 8.8 milyon naman o 41 porsyento ang nagsasabi na sila ay “mahirap sa pagkain”.

Ginawa ang survey sa 1,550 residente sa Metro Manila, Luzon, Visayas, at Mindanao.  Tinanong sila ng SWS na i-grado ang kanilang pamilya kung sila ay “poor, not poor, or borderline poor”.

Inusisa rin sila kung magkano ang dapat gastusin ng kanilang  pa-milya kada buwan para hindi masabi na sila ay mahirap.
Tumaas ang bilang ng mga self-rated poverty at food poverty sa halos lahat ng rehiyon maliban sa Mindanao.

“Both self-rated poverty and self-rated food poverty rose from the previous quarter, and are above their four-quarter averages for 2013,” ayon sa SWS.

Sa tala noong 2012, ang self-rated poverty ay nasa 52 porysento, tatlong puntos na mas mababa kumpara nitong nakaraang taon; habang self-rated food poverty ay dalawang puntos na mas mataas nitong 2013 kumpara noong 2012.
