Angat Dam water level paunti-unting nang nakakarekober —PAGASA

PAUNTI-UNTI nang tumataas ang water level ng Angat Dam batay sa anunsyo ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Sa naganap na press conference ng ahensya ngayong araw, ininanderq ni PAGASA weather facilities specialist II Juan Elmer Caringal na bahagyang tumaas ang lebel ng tubig ng Angat Dam, ngunit nananatili pa rin itong mas mababa kung ikukumpara sa normal high water level nito na 210 meters.

“Ang Angat [Dam] po, ang kaniyang present elevation kaninang alas-otso ay 157 [meters]. Tumaas pa po siya ng 0.39 meters; but malayo pa po siya ng 53 meters doon po sa kaniyang normal high water level na 210 meters,” saad ni Caringal.

Pagpapatuloy niya, “Mapapansin po natin na medyo nakaka-recover po unti-unti ito pong Angat Dam.”

Pansin rin nila mula sa annual record ang pagrekober ng water level ng dam tuwing huling linggo ng Hulyo at unang linggo ng Agosto.

Ngunit mas mababa pa rin ng 23.56 meters ang rule curve ng naturang dam kung ikukumpara sa normal nito na 180.56 meters batay na rin sa datos ng PAGASA.

Ayon pa sa PAGASA, kailangan ng Angat Dam ang 403 millimeters ng rainfall upang makabalik sa rule curve nito habang 1,320 millimeters ng rainfall naman para makabalik sa normal high water level.

Umaasa naman ang ahensya na unti-unting tataas ang lebel ng tubig sa Angat Dam, at kahit bumalik man lang daw ito sa normal operation.
