Gretchen Barretto pumalag kay Alyas Totoy, itinangging may kinalaman sa missing sabungeros
NANINDIGAN ang kampo ng aktres na si Gretchen Barretto na wala siyang kinalaman sa kaso ng mga missing sabungeros.
Sa pamamagitan ng isang official statement na inilabas ng kanyang abogadong si Atty. Alma Mallonga, nilinaw nitong isa lamang ang aktres sa 20 investors sa e-sabong operations.
“Ms. Gretchen Barretto has just been tagged a ‘suspect’ in the case of the missing sabungeros based on the allegations of a supposed whistleblower, but his allegations stand on plain suspicion.
“While he has not witnessed anything that Ms. Barretto has said or done, the whistleblower maliciously speculates she must nonetheless somehow be involved because of her close connection with Mr. Atong Ang,” pahayag ng kampo ng aktres nitong Biyernes, July 4.

Giit pa ng kampo ni Gretchen, walang katotohanan ang mga akusasyon at wala itong dinaluhang meetings tungkol sa pagpapakuha sa mga sabungero.
“Ms. Barretto regrets that she is being crucified without basis, and has become the subject of unsavory speculation based on rumor.
Ms. Barretto understands the importance of resolving the case.
The sabungeros and their families deserve to know the truth, and they deserve closure because their lives matter.
“Justice can only be served by a responsible and thorough investigation of the case based on evidence and facts. Wishful thinking borne out of malicious desperation and speculation are not evidence,” pagpapatuloy ng anogado ni Gretchen.
Kinumpirma rin nila na may sumubok na kikilan siya ng pera kapalit ng hindi pagsasama ng kanyang pangalan sa listahan ng mga suspect sa missing sabungeros case ngunit tumanggi siya rito dahil wala naman siyang ginagawang mali.
Nangako naman si Gretchen na makikipagtulungan siya sa proseso ng imbestigasyon tungkol sa naturang kaso.
Nakikiusap naman ang aktres na sana’y maging patas ang mga otoridad at nawa’y huwag agad manghusga ang publiko hangga’t hindi pa tapos ang kaso.
“In the end, Ms. Barretto trusts that an objective investigation will prove her lack of involvement in the case and the unfairness and falsity of the accusations against her,” dagdag pa ng abogado ni Gretchen.
Matatandaang noong Huwebes, July 3, inihayag ni Department of Justice (DOJ) Sec. Jesus Crispin Remulla na kasama na ang aktres at si Atong Ang sa mga suspek na dapat imbestigahan.
