Marami ang nagtataka kung bakit tinalo nina Coco Martin at Richard Yap, best actor winners sa katatapos na Star Awards for TV, sina Dennis Trillo at Tom Rodriguez na bida sa My Husband’s Lover.
Bakit nga ba, eh, ang galing-galing ng dalawang Kapuso actor bilang beki lovers sa soap opera na ‘yon ng Siyete na lumikha ng matinding ingay sa landscape ng Philippine TV for its AUDACITY and UNIQUE STORY?
We think that Tom and Dennis were more deserving of the honor. Acting at its best ang ipinamalas nila sa kanilang soap opera and we feel na the gamut of emotions they displayed in each episode were more than overwhelming for them to win.
In fairness, magaling din naman sina Coco at Richard but we just felt that Tom and Dennis deserve the acting honors more. Hindi namin sinasabing IDIOTS ang mga nagpanalo king Coco at Richard, ha, but kulang lang sila ng DISCERNMENT.
That said, we also feel na mas deserving si Carla Abellana na manalo ng best actress kaysa kay Marian Rivera. Carla’s underacting served her well lalo na doon sa scenes which captured her experiencing EXCRUCIATING PAIN nang malaman niyang beki ang kanyang napangasawa.
It was totally devoid of drama and hysteria but she POIGNANTLY delivered the right emotions that her character NECESSITATED.
