NA-DIAGNOSE ang dating pangulo ng United States of America na si Joe Biden ng prostate cancer.

Base sa official statement na inilabas ng kanyang opisina, ibinahagi nito ang pagkakaroon ng dating pangulo ng aggressive form” ng prostate cancer na kumalat na hanggang sa kanyang mga buto.

Napag-alaman ang sakit ni Biden matapos itong kumonsulta sa doktor dahil sa nararanasang urinary symptoms at nakitaan ng mga espesyalista ng prostate nodules.

“While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management. The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians,” nakasaad sa inilabas a pahayag ng dating pangulo.

Batay sa Gleason score na parte rin ng inilabas na pahayag, nasa 9 ang score ng nabanggit na cancer ni Biden.

Nalungkot naman ang kasalukuyang pangulo ng USA na si Donald Trump matapos marinig ang balita.

Ayon naman sa medical director ng Northwestern Health Network cancer program, may available treatmebt para ma-control ang cancer ng dating presidente ngunit walang siguradong lunas.

“When the cancer has spread to the bones, that makes it Stage 4. That means that the cancer is not curable. There’s no treatment available that can cure the cancer,” saad ni Dr. Chris George.

Dagdag pa niya, “So with prostate cancer that’s metastasized to the bone, you could control it for years. Two or three years is very realistic, and some lucky patients get control for four, five, six and even longer.”
