PBBM kay Pope Leo XIV: May he continue to bring Church closer to poor, disadvantaged

NAGPAABOT ng pagbati si Pangulong Bongbong Marcos para kay Pope Leo XIV.
Sa isang Facebook post, sinabi ng pangulo na ipinagdadasal niya na ipagpatuloy ng bagong Santo Papa ang pagiging close ng Simbahang Katolika sa mga mahihirap.
“On behalf of the Philippines, I congratulate Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost of the United States on his election as the successor of Pope Francis and leader of the 1.4 billion-strong Catholic Church,” bungad niya.
Ipinahayag din ng pangulo ang kanyang pag-asa na magsilbing inspirasyon sa mga Katoliko ang kauna-unahang Amerikanong Santo Papa.

“As the new pontiff, who took the papal name Leo XIV, ascends the Chair of St. Peter and assumes the mantle of Bishop of Rome, I pray that he will continue to bring the Church closer to the poor and disadvantaged,” dagdag pa ni Marcos.
Patuloy niya, “The Filipino people are also praying for the new pope’s strength and good health as he leads the faithful with grace, wisdom and compassion.”
“May his life and ministry inspire us to persevere in our daily walk with our Lord Jesus Christ,” aniya pa.
Bago maging pope si Cardinal Robert Francis Prevost, ilang beses na siyang bumisita sa Pilipinas noong 2004, 2008, at 2010.
Siya ang ika-267th na Santo Papa ng Simbahang Katolika matapos pumanaw si Pope Francis sa edad 88 dahil sa stroke.
