Darren Espanto inalala pagbisita ni Pope Francis noong 2015

NAGBALIKTANAW ang Kapamilya singer at actor na si Darren Espanto sa huling pagbisita ni Pope Francis sa Pilipinas noong 2015 para sa Meeting and Encounter with the Youth.

Sa kanyang Instagram post noong Lunes, April 21, nag-post ang binata ng video clip ng kanyang naging pagkanta sa naturang event.

Isa kasi si Darren sa mga nag-perform sa pagdating ng Santo Papa noon sa University of Santo Tomas.

Mapapanood sa naturang video clip ang pagkanta niya sa awiting “Tell the World of His Love” habang nasa entablado si Pope Francis kasama ang mga bata.

“10 years ago, I had the privilege of singing for Pope Francis during his visit to the Philippines. It was an honor to be chosen to sing for such a historical event,” saad ni Darren.

Dagdag pa niya, “He’s made a huge impact on lives around the world. May he rest in peace.”

Sa naging interview naman ni Darren sa Rappler ay ibinahagi niya kung gaano siya ka-grateful sa ibinigay na pagkakataon.

“It’s an honor to sing for the Pope, because singing for the Pope is like singing for God. It’s truly an experience that I will treasure,” lahad ng Kapamilya star.

Matatandaang nitong Lunes ng umaga, April 21, nang ianunsyo ng Vatican ang pagoanaw ni Pope Francis sa edad na 88.

“Dearest brothers and sisters, it is with deep sorrow that I must announce the death of our Holy Father Francis,” saad ni Cardinal Kevin Farrell.

Dagdag pa niya, “This morning at 7:35 am (0535 GMT) the Bishop of Rome, Francis, returned to the home of the Father. His entire life was dedicated to the service of the Lord and His church.”

Noong February 2025 nang maospital si Pope Francis dahil sa sakit nitong bronchitis na naging double pneumonia.
