GAGAWARAN ng “State necrological services and funeral” ang Superstar na si Nora Aunor na binawian ng buhay kahapon, Miyerkules Santo, April 16.

Ito ang inihayag ng National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) sa pamamagitan ng kanilang Facebook page ngayong araw, April 17.

Bukod sa pagiging Superstar ay kinikilala rin si Ate Guy bilang National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, sa bisa ng Proclamation No. 1390, na nilagdaan ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte noong June, 2022.

Narito ang buong post ng NCCA hinggil sa pagyao ni Ate Guy.

“The National Commission for Culture and the Arts announces with great sadness the passing of National Artist Nora Aunor on April 16, 2025, at the age of 71. State necrological services and funeral details to follow.

“Nora Aunor, the Superstar has an extensive filmography of more than 170 films. This number is exceeded only by the number of awards and citations she has received from local and international organizations. In 1972, her performance in And God Smiled at Me earned her a Best Actress trophy at the Quezon City Film Festival.


“In 1976, she bagged her first Best Actress victories at the Gawad Urian and FAMAS for Tatlong Taong Walang Diyos. In 1990, she scored a grandslam: all of the five award-giving bodies—Urian, FAMAS, FAP, MMFF and PMPC—gave her the Best Actress trophy for her performance in Gil Portes’ Andrea, Paano ba ang Maging Isang Ina?

“In television, Aunor starred in her own musical variety show that ran for over two decades. She conquered the stage, performing in two major productions of the Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA).

“In 1992, Aunor was elevated to the FAMAS Hall of Fame. She was given the FAP Lifetime  Achievement Award the following year.

“And in 1999, she was one of the recipients of the Centennial Honors for the Arts, given by the Cultural Center of the Philippines to 100 Filipinos who have made significant contributions to culture and the arts in the 20th century. In November 2012, she won the coveted Best Actress Award from 6th Asia Pacific Screen Award, and consequently became the first Filipino actor to be inducted as a member of Asia Pacific Screen Academy.

“She also won Best Actress at the 7th Asian Film Awards. She was conferred the Order of National Artist by the Office of the President in the field of Film and Broadcast Arts in 2022,” ang buong pahayag ng NCCA.

Bukod dito, ililibing ang yumaong aktres sa Libingan ng mga Bayani sa Taguig City bilang isang National Artist.

Ito’ nakabase sa nakasaad sa Presidential Decree No. 208, na nilagdaan ng dating Presidente na si Ferdinand Marcos, Sr. noong June 7, 1973.

May titulong, “GRANTING CERTAIN PRIVILEGES AND HONORS TO NATIONAL ARTISTS AND CREATING A SPECIAL FUND FOR THE PURPOSE,” narito ang mga nakasaad sa naturang kautusan.

“1. A cash award of ten thousand pesos (P10,000) upon conferment of the award and decoration of National Artist;

“2. A life pension of two thousand pesos (P2,000) payable monthly;

“3. Medical and hospitalization benefits;

“4. Coverage by a lifetime insurance policy in the amount of fifty thousand pesos (P50,000) by the Government Service Insurance System and/or private insurance companies from date of conferment of the award, in the event the National Artist is insurable, the premiums for which shall be paid by the National Government or by donation from any governmental or private entities;

“5. A place of honor in state functions, national commemoration ceremonies and all other cultural presentations; and

“6. A state funeral, the arrangements for and the expenses of which shall be borne by the Government, upon the death of the National Artist.”
