VP Sara Duterte na-impeach na sa Kamara, 215 kongresista bumoto

NA-IMPEACH na sa House of Representatives si Vice President Sara Duterte matapos suportahan ng mahigit 200 mambabatas ang ikaapat na impeachment complaint laban sa kanya.
Humigit pa sa kinakailangan bilang ng mga kongresista ang lumagda sa 4th impeachment complaint laban kay VP Sara Duterte, ayon kay House Secretary-General Reginald Velasco.
Nasa 215 mambabatas o mahigit two-thirds ng House’s 306 members ang sumuporta sa resolusyon na ipapasa naman sa Senado na alinsunod sa batas, ang siyang magsasagawa ng paglilitis.
Ayon sa ulat, nasa pito ang articles of impeachment sa naturang complaint na magiging basehan ng mga senador sa isasagawa nilang mga pagdinig upang malaman kung matibay ang mga ebidensya para tuluyang patalsikin sa puwesto bilang bise presidente o hindi si Duterte.

Nauna rito, sa panayam ng media kay Velasco, sinabi nitong ipiprisinta sa plenaryo ng Kamara ngayong hapon ang naturang impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte.

“Yeah, we have enough numbers, 102 lang ‘yung requirement. It was last reported na 153 na e but wala pa kaming exact number until we report it to the plenary,” sabi ng opisyal.
“It will be presented to the plenary and once its approved, transmitted na agad sa Senate. Impeached is the term but, of course, she has to be tried by the Senate,” aniya pa.
May tatlo nang naunang impeachment complaint ang inihain laban kay VP Sara noong December 2024.
Kabilang sa mga basehan ng reklamo laban sa pangalawang pangulo ang hindi umano maipaliwanag na paggamit nito ng confidential funds sa kaniyang tanggapan bilang vice president at noong kawani siya ng Department of Education.
Ayon naman kay Senate Secretary Renato Bantug, inatasan na niya ang mga tauhan sa Senate Public Information Bureau (PRIB) na maghanda sakaling tanggapin nila ang impeachment complaint laban kay Duterte kung maaprubahan ng Kamara.
Pero ayon naman kay Senate President Francis “Chiz” Escudero, hindi naghahanda ang Senado “for anything regarding impeachment.”
“We cannot and will not assume anything until and unless it is a fact. The statements made by an over-eager staff was not authorized by me nor was it proper,” pahayag ni Escudero.
Ngayon ang huling araw ng sesyon ng Kongreso bago magbakasyon para sa pagsisimula ng campaign period kaugnay ng gaganaping Eleksyon 2025.
