DEAR Aksyon Line:
This is a follow up inquiry regarding the letter I sent to Aksyon Line via LBC last 3rd week on June, 2013, which was not answered yet.
It was an inquiry regarding GSIS benefits that I will be receiving once I retire. I am a GSIS member for 12 years now.
Is my retirement at the age of 65 be based from my erroneous late registration of birth certificate?
I relayed on my first letter that I went to GSIS Davao City, and inquired about my present status (I am one year short of the required years of service to avail the early retirement) but was not satistied on the information I got. I just talked to a front desk contractual worker who only gave me a summary of how much I am supposed to get.
She said I will not receive a single centavo since I still have an unpaid loans amounting to P2,000.
When I asked If I would get a monthly pension when I avail early retirement. He said no because I failed to meet the 15 year-in-service-requirerment.
Prior to my present position as plantilla employee of the city government I worked as
1. DSWD welfare aid (temporary) 1975-1981(6 yrs)
2. Private (SSS member) college instructor- 1975-1981- (6 yrs)-part time
3. Private (sss member) college instructor 1981-1990 (9 yrs)-full time
4. City govt of Davao 1996-2001(5 yrs) contractual
Could the above services be reconsidered by the GSIS for my 1 year lack of service in the government? Will they not acept these services?
If I will apply for the correction of my birth certificate (based from my baptismal cert), it will take a long time processing, not to mention the financial burden on my part.
Your immedicate response will be of great help for my medical maintenance.
