Awra Briguela at Coco Martin
NAKARANAS din ng pambu-bully ang Kapamilya teenstar na si Awra Briguela bilang estudyante sa isang eskwelahan na pinasukan niya nu’ng high school.
Mula nang pumasok sa showbiz ang youngstar at social media influencer, talagang nagbago na ang takbo ng buhay niya pati ng kanyang pamilya.
Kaya naman hanggang ngayon ay abot-langit ang pasasalamat niya kay Coco Martin na personal na pumili sa kanya para maging bahagi ng “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” noong 2016.
At dahil din sa action serye ni Coco na napapanood pa rin hanggang ngayon sa iba’t ibang platforms ng ABS-CBN ay nagbago rin ang naging takbo ng buhay niya bilang estudyante.
“Nu’ng nag-viral kasi ako or when I started my career, I was in first year high school so yung first year sobrang naapektuhan kasi sobrang dumami yung schedule ko so parang kailangan ko mag-home study.
“Pero nu’ng second year to third year medyo lumuwag luwag yung schedule ko. Mas gusto ko talaga face-to-face kasi mas nae-enjoy ko kasi may mga crush sa school, kaibigan, ganyan.
“And kahit sobrang busy ako nun sa pag-a-artista, pinilit ko talagang ipagpatuloy yung school ko and I never stopped until now,” pahayag ni Awra.
In fairness, kahit naging busy na ang young actor sa kanyang showbiz career ay hindi niya napabayaan ang pag-aaral at nakasali pa sa mga extra-curricular activities.
“Yung high school ko in-enjoy ko talaga kasi nakapag-join pa ako ng varsity sa volleyball and yung mga competition sa school nakakakapag-join din ako so in-enjoy ko talaga siya,” chika ni Awra.

“And marami rin akong naging kaibigan since tatlo yung naging school ko nung high school since palipat-lipat ako from Las Piñas to Quezon City to Las Piñas.
“Kasi nu’ng first year ako sa Las Piñas and then nag-condo ako sa QC nung madami na akong naging project so wala akong choice kundi mag-home study,” dagdag pa niya.
“The next year since QC-based na ako, du’n na ako naglipat ng school para mag-face-to-face classes. Nung nawala ako sa Ang Probinsyano and I needed to go back to my family, sa Las Piñas ulit ako nagtapos ng high school.
“Ako naman as bida-bida, Ms. Everything talaga ako nung high school. Kasi nga nag-aartista na ako, nag-join pa ako ng varsity tapos sumali pa ako ng dance club.
“As a gay friend, lahat circle of friends, lahat kaibigan ko kahit mapalalaki or babae. Lahat kaibigan ko talaga. Bida-bida ako kasi not so brainy so babawi sa performance dahil mas mataas ang performance tasks sa exams so mas bumabawi ako sa mga performance at sa mga projects.
“So pag may mga ganap sa school nagde-dress up talaga ako ng malala. Kunwari may mga United Nations, ganyan,” aniya pa.
Kasunod nito, inamin nga ni Awra na nabiktika rin siya ng mga bully noon, “Ako kasi nu’ng una nakaranas talaga ako ng bullying sa school pero hindi yun nagtagal kasi nag-stand up ako for myself. Like kahit gay ako, wala silang karapatan na maliitin or apakan ka.
“Just be true to yourself and let them accept you for who you are. And don’t take their opinion seriously kasi I know that wala namang tama or maling opinion. Iba pa rin yung totoo ka sa sarili mo at alam mong mas mahal mo yung sarili mo kesa sa ibang tao.
“Kasi hindi naman importante yung panghuhusga nila sa iyo, ang importante is mahal mo yung sarili mo. If someone bullies you, let them. Hayaan mo sila. Ignore them. Kasi they’re just jealous because you have something that they don’t have,” sey pa ng isa sa mga bida ng Vivamax original series na “The Seniors” along with Julia Barretto and Ella Cruz.
At knows n’yo ba na naitago pa ni Awra ang mga gamit niya sa school, “Lahat ng notebook ko nung grade 10 kasi nag-pandemic na so hindi na nagamit. Ang sad part nga nu’n excited ako grumaduate. Nag-practice pa ako ng graduation with toga tapos nag-pandemic.
“Biglang after nu’ng practice practice namin, kinabukasan wala ng pasok. Hanggang nag-lockdown na. But at least we were able to shoot our pictorial for the school yearbook,” chika pa ni Awra.
