Relihiyon, labas sa gera sa Zambo
ITINANGGI ng lokal na pamahalaan ng Zamboanga City na naging isa nang religious war ang gulo sa syudad. Sa twitter account ng Zamboanga city government (zambocitygovt), sinabi ni Mayor Isabelle Climaco-Salazar na “this is not a problem of religion because we dearly love our Muslims, Christians and the Lumads in the city.”
Dagdag pa ng alkalde: “This is an issue of those misguided people whose ideologies had been founded with the use of arms to inflict terror to people….
This crisis is not an issue of religion. This had been made clear since the first day when this crisis begun.” Humarap din sa media kahapon ang punong lungsod at ilang lider na Muslim at Kristiyano para pabulaanan ang balita na gera ng relihiyon ang meron sa syudad.
Sa isa namang panayam ng Bandera kay Silvi Agravante, Executive Assistant sa Office of the mayor, sinabi rin nito na walang katotohanan ang ulat na nauwi na sa relihiyon ang halos isang linggong gulo na nangyayari sa lungsod.
“Clearly this is not a conflict of religion,” ani Agravante, kasabay ang pag-giit na sa “unang araw pa lamang ng gulo ay malinaw na hindi ito tungkol sa away relihiyon kundi tungkol sa ideolohiya ng ilang rebelde ng MNLF.”
“This is not true (religious war). This is very divisive. Hindi ito makakatulong to solve the situation,” ayon pa kay Agravante.
Binatikos din ni konsehal Vincent Paul Elago ang ulat ng Bandera.
“There exists no conflict between Christians and Muslims in our city. The recent siege has nothing to do with religions. It is all about political beliefs and ideologies,” ayon kay Elago.
