TULOY na tuloy na ang 70th Miss World coronation night matapos itong maudlot noong December 16 dahil sa mga kandidata at staff na nag-positive sa COVID-19.
Ito ay gaganapin sa March 16, 2022 sa Puerto Rico Coliseum Jose Miguel Agrelot.
“We are so excited that we are staying in Puerto Rico to crown the new Miss World!” masayang saad ni Julia Morley, presidente ng Miss World LTD.
“We have been overwhelmed by the support of the people here! The countdown and final planning has begun.
“Our team is thrilled that we will show all the wonders that Puerto Rico has to offer as a premier tourism destination to the entire world. We love Puerto Rico,” dagdag pa niya.
Magbabalik ang mga kandidata sa Isle of Enchantment para paglabanan ang kanilang inaasam na Miss World crown.
Mapapanood naman sa coronation night ang pre-recorded content na kinunan sa iba’t ibang lugar sa Puerto Rico na nagpapamalas ng mayaman nitong kultura, magandang tanawin at iba pa.
“The filming in Puerto Rico has been exceptional -we have spectacular content to share with the world,” saad ni Julia.
Lahat naman ng mga tickets na binili para sa December 16 event na nakansela ay magagamit pa rin sa Marso.
Matatandaang noong nakaraang linggo sy nagpakita ng pagsuporta ang Miss World Philippines sa desisyon ni Julia na pag-postpone ng coronation night para na rin sa kapakanan ng mga kandidata at staff laban sa COVID-19 outbreak.
Hinangaan rin ng Miss World Philippines ang organisasyon dahil sa mga efforts nito para mapanatili na safe at maayos ang lahat ng parte ng pageant pati na rin ang agarang aksyon nito na agad i-quarantine ang mga nag-positibo ng COVID-19.
Ayon naman sa mga report ay safe ang pambato ng bansa na si Tracy Maureen Perez at nag-negative ito sa nakahahawang virus.
“We would like to reassure local pageant fans that our official candidate, Ms. Tracy Maureen Perez has tested negative and is taking all precautionary measures to ensure her safety and well-being.
“Amid the unexpected turn of events, she continues to uphold her promise to do her best to bring home the crown,” saad ng Miss World Philippines base sa inilabas nilang statement.
Dagdag pa nito, “In the meantime, we enjoin everyone to remain hopeful and pray for the health and safety of all contestants, as well as our colleagues from the Miss World Organization.”
