Sa nakaraang “Revirginized” virtual mediacon nina Sharon Cuneta at Marco Gumabao kasama si Direk Daryll Yap ay muling napag-usapan ang dahilan kung bakit hindi nakuha ng Megastar ang role na kasama sana ang kilalang Fil-Am comedian na si JoKoy sa Hollywood film produced ng Amblin Productions ni Steven Spielberg na sa Canada ang shooting.
Nag-positibo kasi sa COVID-19 ang resulta ng swab test ni Sharon kaya hindi siya tumuloy at talagang nag-alala siya kaya muli siyang nagpa-test na umabot sa pito at lahat ay negatibo kaya nagalit siya sa medical laboratory.
“Gusto ko lang linawin, I respect the frontliners, ang masakit, alam mo ba ’yong nag-test sa akin that day—dalawa silang babae na nurses—I prayed for them pa. We prayed together kasi sabi ko, ‘Nakakaawa naman kayo. I feel so bad that you have to go to people and to companies na you’re risking na baka mahawa kayo kahit anong ingat ninyo.'” pagbabahagi niya.
“So, we prayed together pa before they left. It’s really not the fault of those nurses. Those very nice nurses na nag-swab sa akin.
“But I think the lab (laboratory) has to (hindi natuloy ang sasabihin) you know who you are, you start with an S and it’s not Singapore Diagnostic Centre. It’s not. It starts with an S—please, please check your equipment, double check, because you made four mistakes for me and my people here with me, Peachy, who’s supposed to come with me (sa US), my yaya, and my masahista.
“Because we all got swabbed again by other. Ako seven times, si Peachy five (times) and all negative. And we never got sick.
“So, I think it’s the equipment and the lab. Please, please check your equipment because it might affect people. Mai-stress ka. Like si Peachy may diabetes ’yong asawa so she was so careful. She was so scared. ’Yong baka magkasakit ka dahil sa stress diba?” mahabang paliwanag pa ni Sharon.
Inamin ding na-depress ng husto si Shawie dahil malaking oportunidad ang nawala sa kanya dahil sa pagkakamali ng medical lab na iyon.
“Tapos ayan nawala ’yong opportunity ko na hindi ko mabibili, hindi ko maibabalik kasi may time table sila. So it was so very painful to accept.
“I was one of the two only female leads and I got that role it was offered to me! And then I was so proud because it was the first all-Filipino cast. Alam mo, ako lang ’yong actually artistang ililipad from the Philippines. Ang buong cast Filipinos—pero Fil-Am or Fil-Canadians na. I was the only one!” kuwento ng bida sa “Revirginized”.
Inisip na lang nito na hindi meant ang pelikula na kasama si JoKoy.
“Jokoy is really, his book was sold out. Pre-orders palang sa Amazon, I was reading it and it was really so funny. It tells his story talaga and who he became, how he is now… he’s a very big star in America now.
“He’s going to have his own sitcom, his own show, and I’ll be proud na this is the first Filipino movie kahit sabihin mo pang may Fil-Am/Fil-Canadian na involved that is being backed by Amblin, of course, Mr. Spielberg and Dan Lin of Aladdin, these are our bosses, eh.
“And I lost it. It’s okay, it’s okay. God has another plan. He gave “Revirginized”. This may not be a Spielberg movie but it’s a movie that I am proud of,” pahayag ng aktres.
Samantala, ibang-iba ang karakter ni Sharon bilang si Carmela sa “Revirginized” kaya tiyak na magugulat ang lahat dahil hindi pa siya nakagawa ng ganitong klaseng pelikula.
“You know, when you are an actor you can be proud of making mura or saying words that you don’t usually say.
“Kaya ka nga artista diba? Parang si Ate Vi (Vilma Santos), teeny bopper tapos gumawa ng “Baby China”, di ba? Ganun lang ’yon. Like Hilda Coronel, one of my idols also, she did ’yong “Angela Markado” pero kilala siyang respetadong dramatic actress, si Ate Lorna (Tolentino) rin.
“I mean, you know, wala kang matatapon sa mga yan. Si Ate Guy (Nora Aunor) din maraming ginawa yan ’yong “Banaue”, ’yong mga “T-Bird at Ako” ’yong mga ganu’n? Pero kilala sila at nirerespetong artista. So, iba-ibang roles
Oo nga naman kasi lahat ng pelikulang nagawa ni Sharon ay pawang romantic-comedy na whole some at heavy drama, sabi nga niya, ngayon lang siya gumawa ng body shot sa co-actor niya na hindi niya nagawa sa asawa niyang si Senator Kiko Pangilinan at sa ex-husband niyang si Gabby Concepcion.
Nanatiling malakas ang benta ng ticket ng “Revirginized” sa KTX.ph at Vivamax kasama ang iWantTFC, TFC IPTV, SKY PPV. Mapapanood din ito sa Cignal PPV sa Agosto 27.
