Alden vs Tom: aktingan showdown sa ‘The World Between Us’

SIGURADONG magkakaroon ng aktingan showdown sa pagitan nina Alden Richards at Tom Rodriguez para sa upcoming Kapuso primetime series na “The World Between Us.”

Sa kuwento, gagampanan ni Tom ang karakter ni Brian, ang nakatatandang kapatid ni Jasmine Curtis na gumaganap bilang Lia. Siya ang hahadlang sa pagmamahalan nina Lia at Louie to be played by Alden.

“It’s such a different character na sobrang nagkaroon ako ng interest. To tell you the truth, sa manager ko, we were given a few options.

“GMA was so kind to us to give us a few options of shows to be a part of, and nung nakita ko ‘yung iba, it would have been fun din, e, romantic-comedy type of vibes,” pahayag ng fiancé ni Carla Abellana sa virtual mediacon ng “The World Between Us.”

“Pero nu’ng nabasa ko ‘yung synopsis for this one, and the cast that would be attached to it, it was too attractive to pass up, it would be a chance to play around, to try different things, to experiment, to also stretch myself as an actor,” dagdag pang sabi ni Tom.

Ayon pa sa aktor, hindi lang daw basta “kontrabida” ang role niya sa serye, “Bukod sa kinikilig ako sa love story (nina Louie at Lia), kinikilig ako at the chance to jump in and play around and be with these people.

“Iba si Brian, he’s wounded, may bubog but at the same time, there are layers to him as well. Hindi lang siya kontrabida lang just to be a kontrabida.

“The writers, the creatives, they really put dimensionality to each of the characters, hindi lang kay Brian kaya ang saya, ang saya niyang i-portray,” aniya pa.

Samantala, nabanggit naman ni Alden na ibinase ang kuwento ng kanilang serye sa 1800s novel na “Wuthering Heights” pero siniguro nila na ibang atake ang ginawa nila sa kanilang mga karakter.

“We try to retell a story with a twist, with a different take. Siguro nawawala ‘yung element of surprise, on an actor’s point of view, if you’re able to watch the whole material and then magkakaroon ka na ng certain biases sa role mo,” paliwanag ng Asia’s Multimedia Star.

Sabi naman ni Tom, ayaw niyang magpaapekto sa pressure sa pagganap bilang si Brian, “I consider myself lucky na hindi ko pa nakikita at nababasa ‘yung source material para lang it won’t add undue pressure sa sarili ko.

“And at the same time, I’ll be free to try to collaborate with others,” dugtong pa niya.

Makakasama rin sa “The World Between Us” sina Dina Bonnevie, Jaclyn Jose, Sid Lucero, Kelley Day, Yana Asistio at marami pang iba.  Mapapanood na ang world premiere nito sa July 5 sa GMA Telebabad.
