I actually met the bosses it was a few days before the lockdown. It was a meeting with the understanding na pipirma na and everything.
“Kaso nga lang naudlot ng pandemic and it took a year bago natuloy. I guess because of what happened last year, not only the pandemic but also the shutdown of the franchise, everyone just waited for things to settle down.
“The dynamics of the industry medyo nagkagulo din kasi. I guess now the time is right and everyone found a balance na. I’m just really excited because I’ve been waiting for quite a while, more than a year almost,” simulang pahayag ni Jake.
Pagpapatuloy pa niya, “So talagang I’m really excited to start acting and go to work and meeting all the people on cam and behind the cam. I’ve met a couple of kapamilyas na and feeling ko I belong.”
Kuwento pa niya, nang gawin niya ang pelikulang “Coming Home”, naramdaman niyang showbiz talaga ang gusto niya, “My first ever appearance on TV I was still in college and I was based abroad so hindi ko magawa lahat ng offers and I was also very reluctant talaga nung time na yun.
“Hindi ko sure kung anong gusto kong gawin sa buhay and being a young dad din I prioritized my daughter.
“By last year when I actually did the movie Coming Home I realized why not give this a try? Why not try it seriously naman. By doing that film yun yung nakapagpa-decide sa akin talaga,” pag-amin ng binatang ama.
“Actually growing up talaga I was exposed to two worlds, the world of showbiz and politics. Growing up it was either or of the two.
“At first I really wanted to follow my dad’s footsteps when it becomes to being a public servant. Yun talaga yung gusto ko before. But somewhere along the way I got disillusioned with our system here in the Philippines and yung pagpasok sa showbiz talagang it’s been at the back of my head lang ever since.
“Pero hindi ako pinayagan kasi gusto ng parents ko prioritize muna studies ko. Pero nandiyan lang siya talaga. Never nawala yung interest ko sa pagpasok sa showbiz,” chika pa ni Jake.
Siya ang magiging ka-love triangle nina Janine Gutierrez at Paulo Avelino sa “Marry Me Marry You”, “When I got the offer to do this project and I saw the cast I would be working with, it was so overwhelming, exciting, and nerve-wracking at the same time. I’m so grateful sa Dreamscape for giving me this chance.
“Maganda ang story niya kasi it’s what the viewers need ngayon kasi itong show it’s not your typical drama. It’s lighter than usual. So feeling ko maganda yung time na ito yung mai-offer natin sa mga viewers natin ngayon,” pagmamalaki pa ni Jake sa una niyang teleserye sa ABS-CBN.
