“Absolutely! Because I was already working, I was going to school, going to work, going to school, going to work noon. And when you’re working with your leading man yon lang ang nakikita mo. So yung magiging boyfriend mo, leading man mo.
“Tapos kapag nag-break kayo ang magiging next boyfriend mo leading man mo rin ulit. I only had two boyfriends na wala sa showbiz, eh. Absolutely, I feel like I missed out,” ang pag-amin ng movie at OPM icon sa isang panayam.
Noong panahong iyon, nagdesisyon si Sharon na tumigil muna sa pag-aaral, “I had to leave school because I got married at 18, I was in 11th grade.
“So I had to take an exam with the Department of Education for a placement test na if I pass it would have allowed me to enter college. And of course, I passed it so I was able to take up some college courses in UP (Open University).
“That’s one thing lang, hindi ako nakatapos pero ang dami namang nag-aaral para makakuha ng trabaho after. I just did it the other way around.
“Tapos nu’ng hindi ako nakatapos, kasi may babies na ako, eh, it was taking time away from….imagine Miel’s first birthday I was doing a paper for UPOU, nagpa-party sila sa baba pero may deadline ako, so parang I can’t do this. Parang ang hirap,” esplika pa ni Sharon.
Pero kahit hindi siya nakatapos ng college, nag-e-effort naman daw siya para maging updated sa mga kaganapan sa buong mundo at hindi mahuli sa balita.
“Up to now I keep reading, learning, watching things that educate me. I never ever wanna stop learning. I never even want to just be frozen in time, no! I want to know what’s going on in my world.
“Everyday I watch the news. Everyday I have to read something. Everyday I have to ask my children what they think of something or what is new.
“Because they might know things and usually they do know things that I don’t kasi ibang edad, di ba? It’s not nice to be out of touch with what’s really going on,” chika ni Mega.
“I think I was book smart on school but I appreciate more than I’m street smart. I’d rather be wise than super intelligent, but thankfully I think I’m also a little intelligent. I like wisdom over book knowledge,” natatawang pahayag pa ni Shawie sa nasabing interview.
