HALOS magmakaawa na ang Kapuso actress at animal welfare advocate na si Carla Abellana sa kanyang fans at followers sa social media.
Muling nanawagan si Carla sa publiko, lalo na sa mga pet owners na suportahan at makiisa sa pakikipaglaban nila sa lumalalang animal cruelty sa bansa.
Ibinahagi ng aktres sa Instagram ang update sa sinimulan nilang petisyon para sa “Pawssion Project Foundation”.
Ito’y isang “non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of dogs in distress, which aims to reach concerned authorities about the public outcry about animal cruelty.”
Mensahe ni Carla, “As of 10:50 PM, we have only gathered a little over 20k signatures. We are still far from our goal of 1M signatures.
“So so many animal cruelty cases everyday. Everyone wants action and result, but it’s so hard to get everyone to sign the petition.
“With how the animal welfare act is treated now, all of your cries on social media are good as nothing because again, no witness = no case.
“Every animal cruelty case you see on social media, despite the clear evidence, if without a witness willing to sign an affidavit and testify in court, then there’s no case,” pahayag ng dalaga.
Ilang taon na ring nakikipaglaban ang aktres para sa mga proyekto ng Pawssion Project Foundation, partikular na sa pagre-rescue ng mga stray dogs at pagtulong sa iba pang mga hayop na nangangailangan ng tulong.
