‘Misencounter’ sa Sulu nangangamoy whitewash–solon

NANGANGAMOY whitewash umano ang pagsasabi ng Philippine National Police na isang misencounter ang pamamaril ng mga pulis sa dalawang sundalo at dalawang enlisted personnel sa Sulu.

Ayon kay Puwersa ng Bayaning Atleta partylist Rep. Jericho Nograles hindi pa nagsasagawa ng masusing imbestigasyon ang PNP pero nasabi na nito kaagad na misencounter ang insidente.

“The usage of the term misencounter looks like an early indication of a whitewash,” ani Nograles. “The PNP should know better and choose words carefully because this is like adding insult to injury to the family and the brothers-in-arms of the whole Armed Forces of the Philippines.”

Punto pa ni Nograles isa sa mga biktima—si Major Marvin Indamog ay nagtamo ng 12 tama ng bala.

“Apat sa harap, walo sa likod. Paano mo maitatawag na misencounter iyan? Murder yan, clear as day,” saad ng solon.

Binuhay din ni Nograles ang kanyang panukala na magpapalakas sa Internal Affairs Service ng PNP upang mabantayan ang mga pulis.

“One doesn’t need to be a forensic scientist to see that all the victims who were all sprawled near their vehicle were not armed. It is a well and established rule to not fire unless fired upon, and, based on the reports I have received, the Army personnel did not shoot first. Sounds like a rubout to me,” dagdag pa ni Nograles.

Si Nograles ay dating caretaker ng unang distrito ng Sulu.

“This incident only dampened our Government’s anti-terrorism efforts and set us back from the hot trail.”
