NAKATULONG umano ang pagsasailalim sa ilang lugar sa Special Concern Lockdown (SCL) sa Quezon City upang matukoy ang mga nahawa ng coronavirus disease 2019.
“We’re able to find new cases and prevent the risk of spreading the disease by immediately transferring positive cases to our HOPE community care facilities or to hospitals,” ani Dr. Rolly Cruz, pinuno ng QC-Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit ng QC Health Department.
“Imagine if those areas haven’t been placed under SCL, people who might be carrying the disease can easily go in and out of their homes and spread the virus around their communities.”
Mula Mayo hanggang Hunyo 5, isinailalim ang 4,013 residente sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng SCL sa rapid testing at 240 ang nagpositibo sa IGg at IGM.
Sa unang batch ng confirmatory swab testing sa mga nagpositibo, 53 ang nagpositibo sa COVID-19.
Ayon kay Assistant City Administrator for Operations Alberto Kimpo ang paggamit ng SCL ay naging epektibong estratehiya sa pagpigil sa pagkalat ng COVID-19.
“This strategy is effective because we are able to zero-in on areas that need extra attention and identify clustering of positive cases,” ani Kimpo. “Through a targeted and scientific approach, we are able to focus our health resources given the vastness of our city, and the results are encouraging for the continuation of this methodology.”
Noong Hunyo 10 inalis na ang SCL sa Dakila st., Kalayaan B, at Masbate st. sa Brgy. Batasan Hills; Vargas st., GK Ancop, at Certeza Compound sa Brgy. Culiat; Lower Gulod sa Brgy. Sauyo; Victory Ave., BMA Ave., Agno st., at ROTC Hunters sa Brgy. Tatalon; at Howmart Road sa Brgy. Baesa, matapos ang 14 na araw at walang bagong kasong naitala
Nasa ilalim pa ng SCL ang Sitio Militar sa Brgy. Bahay Toro, Calle 29 sa Brgy. Libis, at Kaingin Bukid sa Brgy. Apolonio Samson.
“As we continue to face this virus head on, we encourage our counterparts in the Barangays to remain focused and vigilant, and report to the City Government increases in numbers of cases, particularly in densely populated communities,” ani Kimpo.
