PINAIIMBESTIGAHAN ni Quezon City Rep. Onyx Crisologo sa House committee on Information and Communication Technology ang paggawa ng mga fake accounts sa Facebook.
Sa House Resolution 964, sinabi ni Crisologo na nakababahala ang pagsulpot ng mga fake accounts na halos sabay-sabay na napansin ng mga Facebook users.
“One of the strategies of the government to combat the spread of COVID-19 is through information dissemination using various platforms including social media. The circulation of false information could destroy the integrity of the information ecology of the country and could worsen the current public health crisis,” ani Crisologo.
Sinabi ni Crisologo na mahalaga na matukoy ang motibo sa paggawa ng mga fake accounts.
“Facebook Philippines should explain the nature of this incident and review their protocols to ensure the protection of its users, the security of their date, and to identify the weakness of their system,” saad ng resolusyon.
Naglabasan ang mga fake o cloned accounts sa gitna ng pangamba sa anti-terror bill na inaprubahan ng Kongreso.
“It’s the responsibility of the government to protect the welfare of it’s people and to immediately act on issues that breach their right to privacy,” dagdag pa ni Crisologo.
