BINIGYAN ni Pangulong Duterte si Health Secretary Francisco Duque III ng 24 oras para bumuo ng bagong team para iproseso ang P1 milyong ayuda para sa 32 frontliners na namatay dahil sa coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
“Now, I am asking Secretary Duque to form a new team that would focus on the immediate delivery of the assistance that should be given to those who were — ‘yung namatay tapos ‘yung nagkasakit. And I expect it within 24 hours,” sabi ni Duterte sa isang public address.
Ito’y matapos na mabigo ang pamahalaan na pagkalooban ng P1 milyong tulong pinansyal ang mga nasawi sa COVID-19 mahigit dalawang buwan matapos ipasa ang Bayanihan Heal As One.
“Secretary Duque, you have the full authority to assemble a team. It may not really be from your office or from the department itself. You can get persons of known honesty diyan sa opisina mo, even temporary, just for a new designation, just to take care of these funds which ought to be in the hands of the intended beneficiaries by this time,” dagdag ni Duterte.
Ayon kay Duterte, batay sa paliwanag ni Duque, lagi niyang sinasabihan ang kanyang mga tao sa DOH para iproseso ang benepisyo ng mga namatay na doktor at nurse.
Sinabi naman ni Duque na pinapatrabaho na niya ito sa kanyang staff.
“We will comply, Mr. President, with your deadline. Sabi ko huwag silang uuwi tonight, tomorrow, weekend, because you gave a three-day deadline to distribute the cheques. So I told them already, we do not go home. You have…”sagot ni Duque.
“Kasi nakakahiya talaga sir eh namatayan na nga tapos nagpa-wardy wardy ‘yung mga tao ko na parang walang sense of urgency, sir. Iyon ang talagang ang sama-sama po ng loob ko, Mr. President,” ayon pa kay Duque.
